This module explains how informed consent, the rights of participants and documenters, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, Ethics)-based ethical practice, and payment work together in community language documentation. By the end, you should be able to ask for consent properly, respect community and individual rights, and plan for fair payment and recognition of labour.
